Totally alternative and fun day for wedding photography Kings Chapel. Such a different, fresh approach for Natalie and Hamish’s special day at this gorgeous venue in Amersham.
A warm day for this special occasion and the Chapel was beautifully decorated and ready for the event to begin. The King’s Chapel is such a unique building with so much daylight filtering in to this grand, enormous space – a photographers dream.
Hamish and Morris the dog were ready and enjoying a quick drink at the hotel itself, surrounded by the many guests and family. This is always a lovely time for image capture as there is plenty of laughter and nervous energy in equal measure as everyone makes their way to the ceremony.
With everyone seated in the cool exterior I made my way to meet Natalie. The Bride began taking the long walk up to the chapel and what a vision greeted me. All the bridesmaids were dressed in white whilst Natalie had optioned for a long flowing creation in sunflower yellow – so alternative, so stylish.
We enjoyed a beautiful ceremony and I was able to discreetly captured expansive image capture taking in all the candid, natural moments. The newlyweds exited along with Morris and their beautiful daughter Darcy into the gardens for the drinks reception. Such a laid back and care free time with lots of atmosphere that was reflected in the images.
Prior to the wedding breakfast I made sure to photograph the table plans with an amazing set up of flowers, vases to create a splendid showcase. Speeches came next with plenty of heartfelt moments, laughter and the odd tear. Throughout the dining I meandered as so many of the best images are created at this time.
Natalie and Hamish joined me as we escaped and drove up to Amersham woods for some private moments. Lovely to see them both unfold into the moment so I could create some special, atmospheric images.
On our return the place went into overdrive. A kids entertainer was in full swing accompanied by face painting plus flower garland making. This created a mini festival feel that worked brilliantly.
As the lovely couple had hired a campervan for the honeymoon we managed to capture some quirky, freestyle images using the hotel as a backdrop – loved the energy this created.
What a joy to be part of this special day for wedding photography Kings Chapel.
