A quite unbelievable day for Lara and Alex and Old Luxters Barn wedding photography. Just azure blue skies and very warm weather all day, it felt more like being in the Spanish countryside.
I met Lara and the girls at her parents home for some really informal bridal preparation moments, just very relaxed and fun with nervous excitement in the air. Soon I headed over to the wedding venue. Old Luxter’s Barn is such a magical Oxfordshire barn wedding venue. Located near Henley it’s nestled away near woods in complete peace. Also they have their own vineyard which is amazing!
Everyone was seated in the barn for the ceremony and I caught up with Alex who was so ready to get started. Luckily the bridal party arrived and we were set.
With a small, intimate wedding ceremony Lara made a stunning entrance and I was able to capture the pure magic. So many lovely moments as everyone embraced the feeling in the room. Great to capture the bride and groom’s reactions plus loved ones too. The newly exited onto a hot courtyard and were smothered in confetti. The drinks flowed, canapes were served and there was beautiful music by an incredibly talented singer and guitarist plus a birthday cake for Lara’s grandmother !
Speeches came next before the wedding breakfast and the atmosphere ebbed and flowed as so many stories were told. The power of the spoken word and how we react to it making for plenty of raucous laughter, silent reverence and of course tears. Wonderful to capture this heartfelt time. After the dining Lara and Alex joined me in the pure escapism of the vineyard. Still hot but with long shadows we captured some intimate moments as they both enjoyed the peace and space. We sought sanctuary in the coolness of the woods with dappled light and long grass.
We headed back to capture the cake cutting and the first dance. Luckily I managed to run upstairs for a dramatic image looking down. Totally loved my Old Luxters Barn wedding photography.
