Such a brilliant Morden Hall wedding with Rebecca and John. After a very cold and snowy few weeks the weather was dry as on arrival. It’s a beautiful 18th century country house adjacent to National Trust parkland that makes for a unique location.
I was greeted by three lovely bridesmaids, so buoyant and ready to embrace the day. We all joined Rebecca who looked very cool and sophisticated in the preparation room. With natural light streaming in this was ideal for the bridal preparation shots. The whole time it was a joy as the girls shared a few glasses and laughed whilst Sharlene Evett Make Up perfected the look. The bride looked stunning in a Maggie Sottero dress — so perfect for her athletic physique.
The Willow room downstairs was all set for this Morden Hall wedding and beginning to fill. John and the groomsmen were in great spirits as they greeted close friends and family. Soon it was time for the long walk down an elegant staircase and a dramatic entrance. I always try and capture the groom’s expression with mere moments before the arrival. Such a beautiful ceremony with plenty of laughter and heartfelt speeches.
Ton’s of confetti on exit and congratulations before we made our way outside for some impromptu family shots. With the weather holding the newlyweds made their way towards the bridge overlooking the park for some lovely private moments caught on camera. Onto the wedding breakfast in the impressive Mulberry Suite. With its high ceiling this created the perfect arena for this special event to fully develop into a party. As drinks flowed and exquisite cuisine was served the conversation and laughter escalated. Such a joy to provide unobtrusive image capture as everyone was caught up in the moment. This was highlighted especially during the speeches.
Finally onto the dancing. The Hares Live Music were set up in the Willow Room and after cake cutting Rebecca and John took to the floor for their dance. My style change to a music event photographer as the party stepped up and the dancers came out to play. So much fun to provide some dynamic and alternative image capture before I left this glorious Morden Hall wedding.
What a day…
