When Dan asked me to cover his wedding I had no idea that we would have such an amazing day for Kings Chapel wedding photography. I have covered so few snowy weddings and I definitely wanted to make the most of this.
I met Helen and the girls for bridal preparation at The Crown Inn just along from the wedding venue. Such a fun time in beautiful surroundings with Hannah Joy looking after the hair and make up. We made the short walk to the venue and how spectacular did this look in the gleaming snow. Guests were arriving to great a beaming Dan and the groomsmen. I captured the final moments as Helen put on her dress with the very excited flower girls. The Domed main hall was full and ready for the ceremony as the bridal party took the long walk and entered in dramatic fashion with flower petals scattered by the little ones.
With incredible natural light streaming in the ceremony ensued with much emotion – tears, laughter and truly heartfelt moments. Knowing the venue so well this allows for expansive Kings Chapel wedding photography to capture candid, intimate moments. The newlyweds exited to much cheer and shortly afterwards were covered in confetti outside in the freezing cold.
Everyone came inside for the drinks reception and this gave Helen and Dan a chance to escape to the woods. With such a spectacular day of deep snow it only seemed fitting to find some escapism for private moments. Only a five minute drive away there is perfect secret location to catch the outside drama. So lucky to have this and big love an adventurous couple too!
The wedding breakfast was so relaxed and fun with so many children and friends attending , plus an amazing DJ who entertained the kids for hours. It’s a special time and this applies to image capture too. Lots of bubbles, hysterics and high jinks as the drinks flowed followed by great speeches.
All that remained was cake cutting, some first dance moves and then probably the shot of the day. Helen and Dan at 9pm outside in driving snow embracing the moment. Absolutely loved my day here for Kings Chapel wedding photography.
